после моего прошлогоднего опыта, не поехат - я просто не могу! последную рубаху продам, но поехат обязан!
дело в том, что надо бы планировать жылье... есть вариант жить в, так называемых, "джангалоу". подробностей я пока что не знаю, но слышал, что там очен пиздато. надо несколко чел., чтоб потянут целый "джангалоу"; поетому я и пишу.
по логиге, в этом году не должен быть полный пиздос с билетами, потому что из-за того, что произошло в прошлом году, организаторы планируют открыт еще один стэйдж, где-то в 150 метрах от основного здания клуба, так что билетов будет на пару сотен больше. но, в любом случае, в день начала продажы билетов надо будет быть очень шустрым!

так как, информация может быть для кого-то интерестная, пишу и сюда то, что послал в личку:
привет! ну смотри, голландия, конечно, относително, дорогая страна(для нас тут, по крайней мере) все зависит от того, где жить и "скромности желаний".
с жильем мне приходят в голову три варианта:
1) как я уже писал, "джангалоу". по слухам - очен классный вариант, но я еще не смотрл их сайт, так что не знаю подробностей 2) кэмпинг, где, как мне рассказывали люди, которые там жили, очен весело и достаточно дешево! но, учитывая, что это середина апреля, с погодой может не повезти... 3) это то, как мы жили в этом году - в отеле, в eindhovene . в самом tilburge зарезервировать отель на время феста уже сейчас нереално! мы жили вот в этом отэле http://www.hotels.nl/eindhoven/pierre/. там очен даже неплохо! на 5 дней(с 14 по 18 апреля) показывает цену 279 евро. но надо учитывать то, что надо будет каждый день покупат билет на поезд до tilburga. туда-обратно, по-моему, 10 евро, вроде. и надо будет успеват на последний поезд, который, если мне не изменяет память, едет из tilburga около пол 3 утра. ехать минут 45
остальное, как уже писал выше, зависит от тебя лично. но расклад, приблизительно, такой: нормално покушать(не фаст фуд) - 10-13 евро пивко на самом фесте - 4 евро пивко в кафэшках рядом(посмотри фотки), которые забиты роадбернерами и в которых очен приятно посидеть, чтоб отойти и подышать свежим воздухом - 5 евро водка (литровая финляндия) - где-то 20 евро, по-моему грам травы - 10-15 евро сигареты - сука дорогие - 5 евро, чтоль. так что бери ссобой по максимуму.

We are truly looking forward to see Kelly, Wino, Cisneros and Crover meld their unique, different styles. When these four musicians get together, catchy canyon-size riffs lead to psychedelic guitar solos; subdued vocals add a mellow touch; and the meandering, groove-laden ambience ultimately creates crushing doom riffage. а вообще, я только приветствую, чтобы добавились группы, которые... не могу сказать "проходные", т.к. таковых там нет, но, скажем, "которые мне менее интересны". там же три зала, а в этом году будет еще один, поэтому, порой, очень сложно сделать выбор. например, в этом году Colour Haze и Church of Misery полностью перекрывались. и хуй знает на что пойти....

ну, тут сложно сказать. дело в том, что роадберн рассчитан чисто на живую атмосферную музыку. этим он и отличается от всех остальных металовых фестов; в этом и вся задумка организаторов... и я их выбору полностью доверяю! мне, честно говоря, их майспейс тож не особо пропер, но это дело надо слушать лайвом! я, например, подозреваю, что здесь большенство людей считают, что Neurosis - говно, а стоило бы услышать их жывьем и почувствововать, как земля под ногами дрожит, я уверен, что все бы изменили свое мнение! тоже самое по поводу тех же SunnO))) или ASVA. это, по-моему, вообще, в домашних условиях нереально понять. так что хрен знает... вобщем, надо "живьем брать демонов!"

Да это понятно, тем более в зале они могут учудить все что угодно, плюс теплая атмосфера, и пары алкоголя и хапса сделают своё дело То что есть на Myspace – сплошная синтетика, раньше организаторы Roadburn делали основной упор на живой рог унд мИтол…Повторюсь: то что группа покажет в зале, может на 100% отличаться от студийных работ.

To all Roadburn acolytes: We hope you are preparing for Roadburn 2010. We are in the middle of intense preparations, setting things up for what we think will be one of the best and most talked-about Roadburn festivals to date, with such acts like Triptykon, Shrinebuilder, Goatsnake, Enslaved / Shining (NO), Thorr’s Hammer, Comus, Trinacria, Dream of an Opium Eater & Yob to name but a few.
To give you a brief update, we have some good news as well as some bad news, and the ugly truth.
Let’s start with the bad news. First off, it is with much reluctance that we have to announce an increase in ticket prices for Roadburn 2010. We have tried to find ways around this, but every single one of them resulted in either compromising our vision for what Roadburn should be, or compromise the experience for you, the festivalgoer. Therefore, it will be necessary for us to increase the ticket price from ?100 the last few years to ?145 this year.
However, before you all revolt up in arms, some explanations, and this leads into the good news as well. First off, we received a lot of very positive feedback about some changes initiated at Roadburn 2009, such as moving the merchandise sales out of the 013 venue and into the neighboring v39 building. This provided us with a lot more breathing room in the 013, as well as allowing the dealers more room to bring in a variety of merch, music artwork and other ephemera.
Second, we did not want to compromise the laid-back atmosphere that Roadburn is renowned for by downsizing the space, which would make things uncomfortable for everyone (fans and bands alike). Additionally, we did not want to cave in to something obscene like corporate sponsorship, which would mean your having to watch your favorite drone band on the Yahoo Instant Messenger stage, or something equally demeaning to what our festival is all about.
As a result, by raising the price, we will remain 100% independent and free of being told what we have to do and how we have to do it. Roadburn is not a subsidized festival, and we receive no financial support from the government or taxpayers. Without such a price increase this year, the ugly truth is that we would not be able to continue with the festival as you know it. Roadburn is widely recognized as one of the festivals with the best atmospheres where everyone is treated equally well and with the utmost respect. We don’t like having to raise prices, but we hope you can respect our decision and we aim to give you a great festival in return for your hard-earned money.
Now on to the good news. As part of the pricing increase, we will not only keep the v39 open for merch, but we have expanded into another venue just a minute’s walk from the 013, the Midi Theater (550 to 600 people capacity), which some of you have noticed from previous announcements. This doesn’t mean that by adding a 4th stage we will add even more bands and increase the chance you miss the bands you want to see, but just the opposite: we will use this venue to host either a second set from a band whose performance was impossible to get into at the 013, or to provide a stark contrast musically to what’s going on at the same time on the main stage. The Midi also has a couple more spacious bars and areas where you can just relax and sit down, and it will only be open to Roadburn ticketholders, so you’re still among your special brethren.
The other good news is that due to this additional space and by maximizing the space in the 013, we will be able to increase the amount of tickets available this year from 1,750 to 2,350. We know how many of you tried desperately in vain to get a ticket for Roadburn 2009, and even we were surprised at how quickly it sold out, so hopefully this helps more of you get to see the event. The last thing we wanted to do was move to a larger venue, as we know that a lot of the charm of Roadburn has to do with the 013 venue and its proximity to the inner city of Tilburg with its nice bars and restaurants (ok, and its coffee shops too).
We assure you that we will do everything we can to keep the Roadburn experience one of the best festival experiences you’re likely to have and to preserve the camaraderie that our little festival has become famous for. Walter on behalf of Jurgen & Roadburn

All joking aside, Church of Misery were among THE highlights of the previous Roadburn festivals (both the Bat Cave and Green Room proved way to small for them), and Roadburn 2010 will mark their triumphant return, this time on stage in the 600-capacity Midi Theatre. “Friends! It’s three years running for us now, and believe us, we know how lucky we are to have been asked back again. FATSO JETSON One of the most consistently adventurous and entertaining desert rock bands of the last 20 years, Fatso Jetson is as unpretentious as the California desert is wide. Instead of just going with the groove for the sake of grooving, Fatso Jetson expound on it in many different ways. Sometimes they go completely against the grain just to emphasize when they are in the pocket, while other times the flow is there but the heaviness of the instrumentation obscures it. This is true desert rock. You hear what makes Mario Lalli and Josh Homme tick, and wonder what on earth they put in the water out there in Palm Desert to grow such interesting guitarists and bands.

HORISONT If you like the heavy 70s, you’ll certainly dig Sweden’s Horisont. They excel at creating old school, bluesy hard rock, influenced by the likes of Blue Cheer, Black Sabbath and November. The fact that half of the lyrics are sung in Swedish and English adds to band’s appeal. ØRESUND SPACE COLLECTIVE The Øresund Space Collective is a totally improvised space rock band from Copenhagen and southern Sweden. The membership is changing all the time and features members from Danish bands Gas Giant, SumoSun, Mantric Muse and Swedish bands The Carpet Knights, Sgt. Sunshine, Bland Bladen, Siena Root, and Drahk von Trip. The band are all about finding a groove and creating psychedelic space rock music within this framework. They always have at least two guitar players and two synthesizer players plus bass and drums. The band records and releases all their concerts for free to the fans. The band has released 5 CDs and will have it’s first vinyl album out in late 2009. A new CD will be released on Transubstans in April 2010 in time for their appearance at Roadburn.
KYLESA Headed by the very capable duo of guitarists and vocalists Laura Pleasants and Phillip Cope, Savannah quintet Kylesa bursts out the gate with a roar, melding psychedelic sludge with catchy rhythms that do not let up until their captivating live show is over.
THE WOUNDED KINGS UK Doom band The Wounded Kings, hailing from the legendary bleakness of Dartmoor, awakened by a tarot prophecy, merge Britain’s occult heritage with the fragile spirit of the human condition. 3-day passes will cost ? 145, plus services fees. Single day tickets will not be available. Experience shows that an overwhelming majority of people want to enjoy the entire Roadburn Festival experience instead of limiting their visit to Thursday, Friday or Saturday only.
In the wake of the ticket mayhem prior to Roadburn 2009, we explored several possibilities for avoiding secondary ticketing. Unfortunately, we cannot prevent it from happening. We also noticed that all ticket outlets in the Netherlands cannot prevent scalpers from reselling tickets. A personal registration system for selling tickets was ultimately rejected. To do so would have required raising the ticket price even more, which simply was not an option.
Secondly, as much as we recognize the negative impact of scalping and strongly oppose the practice, it is not against the law to resell tickets in the Netherlands. The Dutch government has been dragging its heels on the ticket scalping issue for years. However, in an attempt to prevent unscrupulous brokers from interfering with Roadburn, we have set a two ticket limit per buyer for 3-day passes.

Nachtmystium confirmed for Roadburn 2010; performing a unique-to-Roadburn set
Illinois-based extreme metallers Nachtmystium have been confirmed for the Saturday Roadburn date, April 17th, 2010. This show will pan hard towards Nachtmystium’s more psychedelic inspired material taking Black Metal and the Roadburn attendees to a musical place that they’ve never gone before.
“We are pleased to announce that Nachtmystium will be making our Roadburn debut this coming year!”, says Blake Judd, “We will be performing a unique-to-Roadburn set that will focus on our more psychedelic-inspired material, along with brand new material from our next full-length record “Addicts: Black Meddle Pt. II”.

У меня еще где-то месяц назад было большое желание поехать, но изучив line-up чёт желание пропало совсем Из заявленных коллективов меня пожалуй интересуют от силы ну группы четыре... Karma To Burn, Horisont, ØRESUND SPACE COLLECTIVE, Shrinebuilder ... еще бы может CHURCH OF MISERY да ASTRA послушал, хоть и не большой их фанат (особенно маньяков). Думаю лучше будет в Финку поездить, через неделю на Клач с Камчаткой и тойже Кулесой например... вообще в Финляндии по стонеру дела видимо не плохо обстоят, в прошлые выходные например Тракфайтерсы со Спарзанзой были! а если на фесты в следующем году, то можно и в правду на obscene или там на hellfest попробовать. На obscene конечно стонера нету, но зато можно много чё хорошего заценить... в этом году знаю были Napalm Death с Disfear!

At their inception, Switserland’s MONKEY3 sounded somewhat deriviate of 35007’s aural soundscapes, but their sound has matured into something unique. Out of the tumultuous past of their careers together… Victor Griffin, Joe Hasselvander, and Marty Swaney are bringing Death Row back heavier than ever. Unfortunately, this reformation of Death Row will be without Bobby Liebling. “Parts of the past have certainly left scars on some of us that have yet to heal. Until then, we move forward with best wishes & prayers for Bobby’s success in Pentagram, and in his personal life”.
What you get from this Death Row will be the same true-to-heart heaviness you expect. Songs written during the formative years by Griffin will comprise most of the set list…along with songs penned by Joe, Victor, and co-written with Bobby…such as ‘The Ghoul’ and ‘All Your Sins’ …which feature lyrics by Liebling. The fans have really been the main catalyst for this reunion, as they bring the 3-piece* Death Row machine back across the sea.

Celtic Frost’s approach to their lyrics also made a mark on us all; their taking the listener into rotten evil worlds while maintaining a high level of dignity made 90% of metal bands look like embarrassing adolescents in my young eyes, and they set the bar high in the black sonic arts for everyone who came after. When V Santura joined them as touring guitarist, that was the biggest thing ever to happen in the music scene of our home town… it seems unreal that now, so many years after, the mighty Tom G. Warrior tells us he’s into our little band. So when The Warrior calls, there can only be one answer from us and that’s ‘yes Sir, with pleasure’!” -Morean, Noneuclid.
In addition, Tom Gabriel Warrior will introduce his new incarnation, Triptykon, who will make their on-stage debut at Roadburn 2010 in the headlining slot in support of their forthcoming album, tentatively titled Eparistera Daimones.

Heavy, operatic and hypnotic, Jarboe’s hydra-head vocals vary from waif whispers to shrieking litanies, offering sonic violence and succor at the very same time.

ну вот это хз, как говорится. в прошлом году за 45 мин. раскупили. тогда был реюнион Сэйнт Вайтас. сейчас играют Дет Роу и реюнион Гоатснэйк(ну и ваще весь лайнап - пиздец), с другой стороны, билет на 45е больше стоит. не знаю, но мне кажется, что будет тоже самое, что и в прошлом году, если не хуже

Hailing from Örebro, Sweden, Troubled Horse is comprised of Witchcraft’s Ola Henriksson (Bass/Back-up vocals) and John Hoyles (Guitar/Back-up vocals) along with Jens Henriksson (Drums/Percussion) and Martin Heppich (Guitar/Vocals). The band sports a distinctive, sinister, 60’s sounding garage rock vibe, combined with a taste of 70’s psych-doom, creating music that evokes The Kinks, Pentagram and Roky Erickson.
LA’s Black Math Horseman live somewhere between the psychedelic world of 70’s stoner and contemporary shoegazers which they adorn with touches of goth and post rock to create their mind altering sound.
Hailing from the dark reaches of France’s Basque Country, Monarch! spawned from the blackened shores to celebrate the cult of all that is slow and low, delivering a 13bpm black mass of feedback drenched funeral doom/sludge, influenced by the likes of Burning Witch, Corrupted, Darkthrone and Noothgrush. Fronted by shreiking banshee vocalist Emilie “Eurogirl” Bresson, Shiran Kaidin (Year of No Light) on guitar, and MicHell Bidegain (Gasmask Terror) on bass, the band is now backed by the psychedelic caveman drumming of Robert MacManus (of Australian noise-doomers Grey Daturas). Monarch! has released a number of albums on labels such as Crucial Blast / Throne Records / 20 Buck Spin / Heathen Skulls, and have shared split records with Grey Daturas and UK doom masters Moss. The band is currently preparing 2 new studio albums, as well as a split record with US black-metallers Wolves In The Throne Room, due to coincide with their joint Australia tour coming February 2010.
Though Totimoshi doesn’t quite run the full length of the schizo-grunge gamut established by such left-field progenitors as the Melvins (with whom they’ve toured), their blend of Latin shred, garage-y war beats is so seamlessly melded into a single coherent attack, that it forces you to swallow the entire pill all at once. Tony Aguilar’s near-pastoral vocal style blends with his gritty, bluesy fretwork. Totimoshi have finally and completely realized their full potential, settling into a groovily warped, peyote-soaked take on the kind of thunder blues and thud rock that defined the early ’70s and eventually gave way to grunge as we know it.

а в каком направлении? там главное, чтоб послений поезд ехал после того, как живая музика закончится. в айндховен, помнится, мы ездили на посленем поезде уже после 3 утра, так что это ок. правда, надо было немножко рано уходить с Orange Goblin metal disco, что жалко, так как там была веселуха. стэйдж дайвинг со столов во время "Angel of Death" и т.д.

Luckily some of you benefited from this anomaly after the festival officially sold out.

As the year and the decennium is coming to an end (and no, we are not getting into the discussion if the decennium includes 2010 as well) we at Roadburn HQ thought it would be a nice idea to let our readers, visitors, friends, acquaintances and people who just passed by accidentally put together a Roadburn Top 10 of the Decade, replete with stoner, doom, drone, heavy ‘70s, post core, post rock and spacerock delights.
How does this work? Please put your top 10 of Roadburn-related albums here: http://www.roadburn.com/2009/12/we-want-your-top-10-albums-of-the-decade/, and we’ll do the math just before Christmas. Your last chance to send in your lists will be Thursday, December 24th, and we’ll announce the definite list between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Some rules will apply for the lists:
- The albums have to be released between January 1st 2000 and December 31st 2009
- A band can only appear once in your list
- Rate the albums from 1 to 10, in descending order (we will give the number one 10 points and number ten 1 points)
- “Roadburn-related” is broad but not without boundaries. So we’ll accept My Mourning Jacket but will delete MGMT.
- Singles and EP’s will not be accepted
- If you feel like adding a line or two about the albums feel free: but please stay clear of phrases like “Best album ever!!!!” We get that as it is in your list.
- And as a bonus you can post the best gig of the decade.

It all started 3 years ago: "My old band Lowrider faded out into nonexistence, but I kept on writing music, without any definite end purpose or goal - the only thing I know was that I wanted to do something different." says Peder Bergstrand, I ARE DROID's guitarist, singer and song writer. A late winter's night after a show in the outskirts of Stockholm, Peder ran into an old childhood friend, drummer Fredrik Bergström. "We hadn't seen each other in ages, like 6 years or something. But after a minute we were right back where we left off. It was just one of those things, you know?" smiles Peder. Pretty soon the two realized they should be making music together. There was only a tiny catch: Fredrik was moving to Tokyo. - We started sending ideas for songs back and forth from Stockholm to Tokyo. It was like that type of juvenile, naive teenage thing like when you where a kid and you met a girl on your vacation. It's like "We're gonna make it, I'll write you every day! I'll come visit you in six months!" laughs Peder.
Except this time it actually happened. Peder went to Tokyo and the two-piece started rehearsing. And when Razzia Records heard what they were up to and wanted to sign the unit, Fredrik decided to move back to Stockholm so they could pursue I ARE DROID full on. When Konie Ehrencrona (Konie, Don't Be A Stranger) joined on guitars and vintage synthesizers and bassist Jens Lagergren (Thunder Express, Hello Saferide) became member no 4, I ARE DROID was complete.

ну заокеанские банды да, как правило. кроме реюнионов, хотя, в прошлом году Сэйнт Вайтас изначално планировалось, как одноразовый "роадберн спешл" реюнион, а они потом взяли и в германии концерты забабахали и на Хеллфесте отыграли. в прошлом году у нас групп 5 играло на неделе перед роабурном, которые потом на роадберне были.

We are proud to announce that DIVE has been confirmed for Tom Gabriel Warrior’s Only Death Is Real at Roadburn Festival 2010.
Dive is the brainchild of Belgium’s very own Dirk Ivens. Influenced by bands from the German and UK electronic / industrial scene, Dive released its first album in 1990. The album was very primitive, harsh and experimental, with lyrics about hope, death, love and fear, but it hit like 10,000 volts. The debut led to many albums with an evolving sound, which consistently retained Dive’s underground, heavy and radical feel.
Dive creates maximum power using a minimum of equipment. Many newcomers to the Electronic Body Music scene have attempted to duplicate Dive’s sound in recent years. Ivens has proven that less is more on stages everywhere.

We are thrilled to announce the return of Earthless [http://www.myspace.com/earthless] to the Roadburn stage on Thursday, 15 April 2010.
Earthless were among the undisputed highlights of the 2008 edition of the festival. The story behind the recording of Earthless – Live at Roadburn has been documented widely by various sites and magazines over the past two years, but in case you missed it: the band was originally scheduled to play in the Bat Cave, the smallest of the three venues within the 013 complex. At the very last minute they were switched to the Main Stage, where they proceeded to dazzle 2,000 rabid fans.

For those who aren’t familiar with Earthless, they are a a powerhouse freakout trio from San Diego, playing long instrumental jams, structured at times, improvised at others. Their rock ‘n roll sound has loads of cosmic space-psych influences. Earthless is scheduled to perform at the Midi Theater.

Soilent Gree отменили свое участие на афтербернере, поэтому их место хедлайнеров афтербернера займут Outlaw Order. всвязи с этим Bong перемещаются из "Bat Cave" в "Green Room"(что лично мне не может не нравиться), а в "Bat Cave" добавляются Samsara Blues Experiment

Soilent Green’s Tommy Buckley, who is also in Crowbar, will be on tour, supporting Sepultura with Crowbar in April. There’s a conflict in both touring schedules, so Soilent Green’s European tour has been postponed. Luckily, we have OUTLAW ORDER replacing Soilent Green as the main headliner of the afterburner event. However, this means that Outlaw Order won’t be playing the main festival on Thursday, April 15th. It took quite an effort to find the best possible solution, and we’re very grateful that Oulaw Order were willing to headline the Roadburn Afterburner instead of playing the regular festival date.

как ни прискорбно заявить, но придется проебать Bong(т.к. смотреть на их неполный сэт абсолютно не имеет смысла) и Eagle Twin, а также большую часть Comus и Гарсии.
